Real Estate professional, Komichel Johnson found success and fulfillment in building homes and communities throughout the world. Komichel Johnson also owns the titles of CEO, Investor, Mentor and Family man.
Komichel Johnson was born and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi where he stayed until he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia to fulfill his dreams of attending Morehouse College and becoming a businessman. In 1999 Komichel met two homebuilders that changed his life and introduced him to community building. Carey Wynn and Bill Wynn, Atlanta home builders and the owners of Wynn Works, sold Komichel Johnson his first house. During the process of building his home, Komichel became extremely interested in the real estate field.
At the time, Komichel was studying business at Clark Atlanta University and wanted to implement “textbook knowledge” to assist Wynn Works. Recognizing the leadership skills that Komichel possessed, Carey and Bill urged him to start his own company. After a few months of apprenticeship, Wynn Works fulfilled their promise and assisted Komichel in jump starting his business. Komichel Johnson teamed up with Carey’s son Greg Wynn and launched JLW Development, LLC. (The name was later changed to JLW Homes and Communities, LLC). JLW focused on improving the community with the homes that they built. Komichel Johnson naturally focused on the younger generation. He saw his younger self mirrored in the neighborhood kids and was compelled to share experiences with them. Komichel Johnson later started a “money for grades program” that shifted the culture of the younger generation it Atlanta. It was now a honor to receive good grades especially when there was a financial reward. Komichel wanted to show the upcoming generation that finding their passion is one of life’s most essential goals.
Komichel developed a structure that helped him prioritize values and mentor the younger generations in urban communities.
